Our affection for our residents runs far deeper than a brand or a logo, as this philosophy envelops all that we do. Dedicated to our residents, our role is to ensure their good physical and emotional well-being, and to tend the needs of the heart; to care for the whole person and enable them to live independently with dignity, respect and choice.

We are very passionate about seniors' care, which is much more than just making residents happy. It includes being with them and present in those moments - daily. We find delight in our resident's personalities and characteristics, and we celebrate their unique life stories. We enjoy offering our residents reassurance, kindness and encouragement.

This is our intentional purpose in all that we do.

A Founder's Story

In 1963, Don Steeves and John Rozema founded Steeves & Rozema Construction, a small company with big dreams of one day making a difference in the lives of others. Under the parent corporation, Steeves & Rozema Group, the company initially grew through construction and general contracting. Now, 56 years later, the dream has more than come to fruition. Today, S&R remains a Canadian privately owned family business, and it is a fully integrated real estate company involved in the ownership, management and development of commercial, multi-residential, seniors living and long-term care homes. 

A lot has changed since 1963. S&R has developed well over 100 buildings throughout Southwestern Ontario. With more than 1,800 Team Members, the company owns and manages real estate in London, Sarnia, Chatham, Kingsville, Windsor, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo.

Don Steeves and John Rozema long-standing vision and values remain. The true measure of success at S&R is the passion our residents feel for their community and that our Team Members feel for their work.

Providing outstanding services and accommodations to our residents and safe and healthy work places for our Team Members are paramount to all of us here at S&R. Over 55 years later, we continue to maintain our constant focus on the development of a corporate culture that fosters individual growth and where accomplishments and achievements are recognized and rewarded. Don and John always led by example and are the embodiment of our company's core values: "Authentic, Passionate and Committed". They recognized, even from the beginning, that bricks without people are just bricks, no matter how well they are laid down.
